Holiday budgets ‘ring ting ting a ling’ thanks to lower gas prices
“Fuel tide” cheer is in the air as gas prices continue to fall. This week, the statewide average fell 2.2 cents to $2.358 per gallon. Nationwide, prices shed 2.4 cents to $2.453.
“Arizona drivers are finding themselves on Santa’s nice list this year, as low demand and increased fuel production have pushed gas prices lower over the past month,” said Michelle Donati, spokesperson for AAA Arizona. “This is the gift that will keep on giving this year, as we expect pump prices to continue to drop during the holiday season.”
Today, AAA revealed its forecast for the year-end holidays, which revealed more than 107 million Americans will travel between Saturday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Jan. 1. The majority of travelers – 91 percent – will drive to their holiday destinations.
Alabama and California hold the lowest and highest average price for the lower 48 states at $2.197 and $3.117 per gallon.
