Sue joined AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah in 2014 and brings extensive leadership experience from her 28-year career at Dole Food Company. In 2011 Sue was awarded HR Executive of the Year by a Southern California affiliate of the National Human Resources Association.
At AAA, Sue is responsible for the entire human resources organization, including the club’s corporate social responsibility. She forges strong cross-functional teams and delivers human resources-related strategies that strengthen Team Member engagement. Sue also designs and executes programs that help develop leaders; ensures compensation and benefits are competitive; attracts and retains top talent; and creates a world-class work environment for some 2,000 diverse Team Members across the club’s tri-state region. Sue also directs the club’s social responsibility function in which she coordinates and implements a range of activities and initiatives designed to have a sustainable, positive impact in the communities where the club serves.
Before joining AAA, Sue was Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Dole Food Company, where she had leadership accountability for all human resource functions for 82,000 employees, including benefits, employee communications and corporate governance and compliance.
Sue earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Redlands and a MBA from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She has taught Human Resources courses at UCLA and served as a Director for the American Red Cross. Currently, she serves on the board of the Children’s Hunger Fund.
