Suna Taymaz

Suna joined AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah in 2016 with over 18 years of experience in strategy, innovation, and new business development. As Chief Strategy Officer, Suna is responsible for the organization’s Autonomous Vehicle initiatives, Information Technology and Corporate Strategy. She also leads the organization’s efforts in Autonomous Vehicle Safety testing.

In 2017, Suna launched the AAA Free Self-Driving Shuttle in Las Vegas, Nevada which was the first large scale autonomous vehicle pilot program in the U.S., with over 20,000 riders in its first six months of operation. The shuttle earned the Innovation Award at the 2018 AAA National Annual Conference and the 2018 Smart 50 Award for Mobility.

Prior to joining AAA, Suna held various leadership roles in corporate strategy and innovation at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), including launching the utility’s $250M technology investment program in smart grid and clean energy technologies. Prior to PG&E, Suna worked for 12 years in management consulting in Deloitte's Enterprise Risk and Cybersecurity practices.

Suna completed executive coursework at University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business, received her M.B.A. from The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine and B.A. in Finance from Carleton University.
