Every fall, the hills and forests of New England blaze with a fiery spectrum of crimson, orange and gold in a color explosion that rivals any fireworks show. Witness the autumn color parade as you travel from Boston on the Maine Eastern Railroad which follows the winding coast to Portland, Maine. Here, you'll view summer mansions like the Bush Estate at Kennebunkport before savoring a Maine lobster dinner.
Roll past New Hampshire’s White Mountains on the Conway Scenic Railroad as you journey through Crawford Notch. This historic route was first traveled by trains more than 130 years ago, and its spectacular foliage still enthralls visitors. Still more color sweeps by as you ride on the vintage coaches aboard the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad before arriving at stunning Lake Winnipesaukee.
Along the way, you’ll also take a ride on the Loon Mountain Gondola, cruise the waters of Lake Winnipesaukee, stop at Vermont’s “Little Grand Canyon” and visit Sugarbush Farm to learn about locally-made cheese and maple syrup. Day 1 - Arrive in Boston

Day 2 - Maine Coast & Portland, Maine

Rocky coastal vistas abound as you discover charming Kennebunkport's 300-year history, from the Native Americans and early settlers to the ship-building era. Enjoy views of the presidential summer home, the Bush Estate and the famous Wedding Cake House. Take time to browse the waterfront shops.
Then let the salty air lift your spirits as you ride the Maine Eastern Railway's coastal excursion. Learn about the scenery and history while riding in comfort in fully restored streamline steel passenger cars. Continue to travel to Rockland Harbor where you can explore this picturesque Maine seaside village and take time for a photo-op or two. Tonight is a lobster dinner at DiMillo’s Floating Restaurant.

Day 3 - Portland to New Hampshire
Ready your cameras for New Hampshire’s #1 foliage route as you travel on deluxe coach through the White Mountain’s breathtaking notches and valleys. Take in the Austrian-style train station, the crisp, white church steeples and colonial era shops. Check out the yummy local food products, hand-made crafts and antiques at Zeb’s famous New England Country Store.
Then board the Conway Scenic Railroad for a delicious lunch served with mountain vistas around every bend. Disembark and continue by motor coach to New Hampshire’s most scenic roadway, the Kancamangus Highway. For the best views of the mountains, we then ride the Loon Mountain Gondola. Afterwards check-in to your charming lakeside resort where you’ll enjoy hearty New England fare for dinner.

Day 4 - Lake Winnipesaukee
After breakfast, spend time on your own in this charming village with time to shop at the Wolfeboro Center. In the afternoon, cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee, an Indian term meaning Beautiful Water in a High Place. Enjoy a delicious hot lunch as you meander along the shoreline dotted with summer mansions. Keep your eyes open for the bald eagles and lake loons as you hear about the area and its Native American history.
Then board the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad for views of the lake while riding the historic tracks of the Boston & Maine Railroad aboard vintage coaches. Spend time on your own touring Castle in the Clouds, an estate perched high above the lakes and surrounded by three mountains. Enjoy a wine tasting of local vineyards at your host inn this evening. Dinner is on your own tonight.
Day 5 - Vermont
Depart for a full-day tour of Vermont. Stop for a photo-op at Quechee Gorge, “Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon” then continue to Woodstock Village, a true New England village nestled in the mountains. Take time on own to browse the shops and walk through the covered bridge.
Then enjoy a visit to Sugarbush Farm, known for its wonderful Vermont cheeses and maple sugar. Learn about maple sugaring with a sugar house tour, savor the delicious samples and enjoy the views from this hillside farm.

Day 6 - Vermont & the Berkshires

Please schedule flights to depart after 4pm.
