Jet boat ride on Alaska RiverGet a good sense of what makes Alaska so unique by visiting some of the state's most popular attractions. Start in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, where you’ll visit the fascinating Alaska Museum. See the grandeur of Alaska’s coast on a trip down the Turnagain Arm to Kenai Fjords National Park. Here, you’ll learn about the wildlife of the region as you cruise into the fjords, spotting seals, puffins, sea otters and sea lions along the way. You might even see orcas and humpback whales!

Head inland to outdoorsy Talkeetna, which began as a trading post when gold was first discovered in the Susitna River. Explore the area at your leisure or join an experienced guide on an optional flightseeing, hiking or jet boat adventure along the region’s glacier fed rivers. Then set off for Denali National Park aboard deluxe dome railcars that allow for the best views of the passing scenery. Upon arrival, a narrated Tundra Wilderness Tour takes you into the habitats of moose, caribou and Dall sheep, providing insight into the flora and fauna of this spectacular region. Before leaving Denali, you’ll also enjoy a special treat at an evening of Denali Dinner Theater.

Itinerary mapDay 1 - Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska
Fly into Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, and meet your Alaska guide for transfer to your hotel.
Accommodation: Hilton Hotel or similar - 1 night

Day 2 - Kenai Fjords National Park
This morning after breakfast, enjoy a brief city tour of Anchorage, including the historic downtown district and a visit to the Anchorage Museum. This world-class museum which seeks to preserve, exhibit and interpret the art and history of Alaska. Then board the deluxe motor coach for today’s grand adventure to Seward, gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park. As you travel along the scenic Turnagain Arm, keep an eye out for Dall sheep high up in the rocky cliffs, as well as moose, bear and eagles. A Welcome Dinner is included this evening.

Day 3 - Seward & Glacier Wildlife Cruise
Spend the morning exploring the coastal community of Seward. Later this morning, board a glacier and wildlife cruise and travel through the majestic Kenai Fjords National Park. Explore the face of a glacier and keep your eyes open for seals, sea lions, sea otters, whales, walrus, bears, eagles and puffins throughout this half-day cruise with lunch included on the boat.

Day 4 – Talkeetna
Board the motor coach for a journey north to Talkeetna, which began as a trading post when gold was first discovered in the Susitna River. The route takes us along the scenic Parks Highway where you will make several stops while your guide offers insightful narrations about the rich landscape and wildlife along the way. Enjoy an afternoon of exploring Talkeetna at your leisure by participating in an optional tour such as flightseeing, hiking or a jet boat adventure.

Day 5 - Denali National Park
This morning ride Deluxe Dome Railcars during the day trip to Denali National Park. Watch for a glimpse of the majestic Mt. McKinley or black bear along the banks of the Susitna River. Enjoy an afternoon of exploring this pristine area at your leisure by either participating in a complimentary park service activity or optional tour. There are many to choose from including mild or wild river rafting, flight seeing, a jet boat safari on the Nenana River or a visit to an Iditarod champions award winning dog kennel. Tonight, enjoy the Denali Dinner Theater.

Day 6 – Denali Tundra Wilderness Tour
Awake in the peaceful setting of your lodge at the park. Today is your day to explore Denali National park up close on a narrated bus tour. Travel deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour and search the pristine wilderness for bear, moose, caribou and Dall sheep. This six- to eight-hour narrated journey** provides insight into the animals, flora and fauna of this spectacular region.

Day 7 – Return to Anchorage
Ride the motor coach south to Anchorage. Tonight, share stories of your Alaskan Adventure with your traveling companions at a Farewell Dinner.

Day 8 - Depart Anchorage
This morning, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
