Day 3 - Toledo Excursion & Madrid Sightseeing
Your Local Guide takes you on a walking tour of Toledo, one of Europe’s oldest cities and home to the great 16th century painter El Greco. Visit the Synagogue and the Church of Santo Tomé, home to one of El Greco’s most famous paintings, The Burial of Count Orgaz. Return to Madrid where sightseeing includes the monument to Cervantes at the Plaza de España and Puerta del Sol, the city’s hub. Other key sights include the Royal Palace, the Paseo del Prado (Prado Museum) and the Puerta de Alcalá.
Day 4 - Cordoba & Seville
Today we depart Madrid and travel south through La Mancha to the city of Cordoba. Visit the Mosque of the Caliphs and learn about the influence of the Moors from your Local Guide. Day 6 - Granada Sightseeing
This morning, depart Seville for Granada. Sightseeing with a Local Guide includes the magnificent Alhambra Palace. A fine example of Moorish architecture, it was built during the 14th century towards the end of Islamic rule in Spain. Walk through the exotic water gardens of the Generalife, the royal summer palace, once linked to the Alhambra by a covered walkway across the ravine. Later, check in to your hotel.

Day 7 - Guadix & Valencia
Travel from Granada via the Mora Pass to Guadix in the northern foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains where you can take pictures of the troglodyte dwellings. Continue to Valencia where you’ll have a chance to see the bull fighting ring and admire the architecture of the medieval cathedral and the Serrano and Cuarte Towers which once formed part of the city walls. Dine tonight at your hotel.

This morning, depart Valencia and head north along the coast through the Levant region where we will stop at Peñiscola to view the ancient castle of the “Spanish Pope” used in the film El Cid. Day 9 - Barcelona Sightseeing
