Begin your exploration of South Africa in Cape Town. With Table Mountain as a backdrop, South Africa’s "Mother City" greets you with unforgettable views and a myriad of diverse attractions. A city tour begins with a cable car journey to the top of Table Mountain for stunning vistas before visiting historic Adderley Street, the Houses of Parliament and the brightly colored, centuries-old homes of Cape Town’s most historic neighborhoods.
Visit a diamond workshop and savor an authentic evening of African cuisine and cultural entertainment at a poplular Cape Town restaurant. See talented artists performing in a variety of shows from cabaret to jazz to comedy as you enjoy Cape wines and a delectable Cape Buffet with views of Robben Island through the large picture windows.
Then journey south to the Cape Peninsula in Table Mountain National Park. Enjoy scenic views along the coast and at Good Hope Nature Reserve, the southernmost point of the continent; see dolphins and whales as ostriches stroll by and baboons tuck into mussels on the shoreline. In Stellenbosch, the second oldest city in the country, sample fine vintages and traditional Cape specialties at several of the Wineland region's best wineries.
In Johannesburg, retrace the path of Nelson Mandela and other inspirational South African leaders who fought to end apartheid. Visit sites dedicated to their struggles, including Freedom Square and the Apartheid Museum, which traces the journey from the dark days of segregation to Mandela's release from prison and his policy of reconciliation that ultimately led to his election as the country's first black president.
Conclude your South Africa adventure with two full days in Pilanesberg National Park. The park is in a transition zone between the dryness of the Kalahari and the wet Lowveld vegetation and consequently attracts an incredible variety of game animals, flora and fauna that are not often found living side by side. Virtually all of the animal species native to southern Africa can be found here, including the Big Five of lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo as well as over 300 species of bird. Day 1 - Arrive in Cape Town
Upon arrival in Cape Town, South Africa's "Mother City," you’ll be warmly welcomed by a local representative who will assist you through immigration. You will then be transferred to your reserved hotel.

Day 2 - Cape Town Half Day City Tour with Table Mountain
Your day begins with a ride on the cable car to the top of iconic Table Mountain for sweeping city and ocean views, followed by a visit to The Company’s Garden, a park laid out by Cape Town’s founding father Jan van Riebeeck. Your tour continues past the Parliament buildings and City Hall. Stop at the 17th century castle, stroll through the colorful Malay Quarter and visit a diamond workshop and showroom to learn about color, clarity and cut.

Day 3 - Along the Cape Peninsula
Immerse yourself in spectacular ocean vistas, quaint villages and wildlife on today’s exploration of The Fairest Cape. Pass by the glamorous homes and exquisite coastline of Millionaires Paradise and on to the charming working harbor of Hout Bay. Wind along the legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive and explore the Cape of Good Hope. An optional trip from here is visiting a colony of penguins at Boulders Beach.
This afternoon you will depart Cape Town and travel to the beautiful Winelands of the Western Cape. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. The Cape Winelands region is the source of many legendary Cape wines, the product of row upon row of grapevines, many of which were first planted hundreds of years ago. Its classic Cape-Dutch homesteads, mountainous surroundings, grand heritage and sumptuous restaurants make the Cape Winelands South Africa’s culinary capital.

Day 4 - Classic Cape Cuisine Walking Tour
Engaging Experience: Sample traditional Cape specialties and wines as your culinary guide leads you through colorful Stellenbosch. Stellenbosch is the second-oldest city in the country and one of the most historic towns in all South Africa with fine examples of Cape Dutch, Georgian, Victorian and Regency architecture.
At your first stop, taste ready-to-dunk rusks with indigenous Rooibos, honeybush, buchu and imported Ceylon tea. Visit a small, family-run butchery to get traditional snacks before heading to a wine bar to enjoy these snacks with a variety of white and red wines. At lunch time, enjoy traditional dishes such as the classic Bobotie, followed by legendary sweet treats and dessert wine or coffee. Finally, sample nostalgic sweets at the oldest shop in town, Oom Samie se Winkel.
Day 5 - Stellenbosch to Johannesburg
Fly to Johannesburg, known affectionately as Jo'burg, or the "City of Gold" and South Africa’s largest city. You’ll be met and transported to your lovely hotel where the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 6 - Johannesburg - Full Day Journey to Freedom
Today is dedicated to retracing the path of Nelson Mandela and other inspirational South African leaders who fought to abolish the country’s now-banished apartheid policies and achieve a truly democratic South Africa. Visit the museums and sites dedicated to their struggles including the Hector Pieterson Museum, where you explore the cause of the riots, before traveling past Mandela House. The next significant stop is the Regina Mundi Church, site of underground meetings. Pause for lunch at a local Soweto restaurant.
Engaging Experience: Visit the legendary Apartheid Museum. This interactive voyage of discovery takes you from the dark days of segregation to Mandela's release from prison and his policy of reconciliation and not revenge.
Day 7 - Johannesburg to Pilanesberg National Park
Discover one of South Africa's most fascinating and accessible game reserves. Only a three-hour drive from Johannesburg, Pilanesberg National Park is situated in the ecologically rich transition zone between the Kalahari and the Lowveld, a vast area with thrilling big game viewing in a malaria free environment. The park boasts healthy populations of lion, leopard, black and white rhino, elephant and buffalo - Africa's "Big Five." A wide variety of rare and common species exist with endemic species like the nocturnal brown hyena, the fleet-footed cheetah, the majestic sable, as well as giraffe, zebra, hippo, crocodile and over 300 bird species.
After lunch, relax before an afternoon game drive. A personal guide will interpret the sights and sounds of the African bush as you experience thrilling game drives in custom built open top 4-wheel drive safari vehicles which permit maximum all-around visibility. In between drives, relax at your lodge camp, take a dip in the pool and sip a cocktail in the open-air boma under starlit skies.

Day 8 - Pilanesberg National Park
Just as the wildlife awakens, meet your safari ranger and hop aboard your open safari vehicle for another thrilling game drive with fellow lodge guests. Engaging Experience: Collect a gallery of photos from aardvarks to zebra as you explore this biodiverse area.
Day 9 - Depart Johannesburg
This morning take in one last morning game drive in search of animals not seen the day before. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, and then depart by ground transfer to Johannesburg in time for your international flight home.
