A: The method you used to initially set up your insurance policy automatic payment or Membership automatic renewal determines how you can update your payment information.

Online
If you previously signed up online for either automatic renewal of your AAA Membership or automatic payments for your AAA Insurance policy you can only update your payment information online.

To update or change your payment information (credit card, debit card or bank account number) online, simply log in to your account and follow these steps:

  1. Select the existing credit/debit card or bank account under “Select a payment method”.
  2. Click in the “Card Number” box.
  3. Delete the existing number in that box and enter the new credit/debit card or bank account number.
  4. If updating a credit card, click in the “Expiration Date” box.
  5. Delete the existing expiration date in that box and enter the new expiration date.
  6. Click the “Continue” button to save your changes.


By Phone
If you previously signed up over the phone for automatic renewal of your AAA Membership or automatic payments for your AAA Insurance policy, you can only update your credit card information by phone.

To update or change your payment information (credit card, debit card or bank account number) by phone, please call AAA Members Service Center at 800-922-8228 or your local branch.

Through Your Bank (AAA Insurance Automatic Payment Only)
If you use online bill pay or home banking through your financial institution to automatically make payments on your AAA Insurance policy, please contact your financial institution to update your payment information.

It is easy to sign up for the automatic renewal of your AAA Membership:

•  Click on the Sign in to My AAA link on the top left of the home page. If you are not currently registered, select Register Now.
•  If you are registered, enter your email address and password. Click Sign In.
•  You'll be taken to your My AAA page, which contains your personal information about your AAA Membership.
•  Click Sign up for Automatic Membership Renewal located on the right-hand side of your My AAA page.
•  The Sign up for Automatic Membership Renewal page will now display.
•  Carefully read the given Terms and Conditions, check the box I agree to the above terms and conditions, and click the Continue button.
•  Enter all required information.
•  Click the Submit button

If you have difficulty completing this change, please call 1-888-929-2911 for technical assistance.

Note: If you decide to sign up for the automatic renewal of your AAA Membership within 30 days of your expiration date, we recommend first paying your current dues online and then signing up for automatic renewal. This insures uninterrupted service and automatic renewal in the following year.

First, sign in to AAA.com with your email address and password. If you have not registered with AAA.com, please take a moment to do so. Once signed in, click on “My Insurance,” choose your Auto Policy and “View/Print: Proof of Insurance.”

You can view your auto policy details (directions follow). For home, motorcycle and other policies, please call your local branch office or the AAA Member Services Center at (800) 922-8228.

To view your auto policy details, sign in to AAA.com with your email address and password. If you have not registered with AAA.com, please take a moment to do so. Once signed in, click on “My Insurance,” and then the policy number link in the page’s middle column.

Your automatic payment plan will begin within 6-8 weeks from the date that you applied for this feature. Once your automatic payment plan has gone into effect, it will be noted on your statement. Until your statement notes the change, please continue to make your insurance payments as normal.

Automatic payments are normally taken from your designated account within 2-3 days of your insurance policy due date. Your insurance payment amount will vary each month; each month will reflect a lesser amount unless you make a change on your insurance policy.

Registration is required in order to access AAA Members-only area on the website.

If you joined:

  • Online, you should have received your membership number right away and can access our online services using that number on the online registration.
  • Through the mail, you will need to wait to receive your permanent membership card to access our online services.
  • Through one of our sales representatives, you were given a temporary number to use for emergency roadside services. You will need to wait to receive your permanent membership card, to access our online services.

To register online once you have your AAA Membership card, you may click "Register" from our home page and follow the on-screen instructions. You must have a valid email address for this process as our system must verify your email address account before your registration is fully active.

If you have any questions regarding your AAA Membership, you may call our contact center at 1-800-922-8228 or visit your local AAA branch office. Find a local off at AAA.com/offices. A: Auto insurance policyholders have two ways to sign up:

  • Contact a AAA Insurance agent directly.
  • Contact your local bank to setup automatic payments through Bill Pay or through Home banking directly from your checking or savings account.


Please note: If you sign up for automatic payments through an agent, it will not take effect for six to eight weeks. You must make a separate payment as normal until your bill indicates your policy has been set up on the automatic payment program.

If you are a non-member of AAA and no longer wish to receive emails from AAA.com, you can adjust your email preferences.

Registered AAA Members with a AAA.com Profile

1.  Sign in to AAA.com with your registered email address and password. If you have not registered yet, please take a moment now to do so.
2.  Click Register Now from the Home page on AAA.com.
3.  Click "My AAA" to view your Membership account and information.
4.  Scroll down the "My AAA" page to "Contact Information."
5.  Click "Change" next to the option "Email Preferences."
6.  A pop-up window will appear with several choices of email preferences. If you have a pop-up blocker installed and are not able to view the window, please disable it and click "Change" again.
7.  Check or uncheck if you would like to receive or not receive specific AAA notifications.
8.  When completed scroll to the bottom of the page and click the button "Submit My Preferences." A "Thank You" window will display confirming your choice(s).
9.  Close the confirmation window to go back to your "My AAA" page.

You have successfully updated your email settings!
