Nowadays it seems like everyone offers roadside assistance. But the truth is, not all services are the same. Steve Jones learned that not only is service better and faster with AAA, but there are also some important differences that most people aren’t aware of—until it’s too late. Steve’s family was so impressed with their AAA experience, even his kids are sticking with AAA.
“A few years back, my daughter and I were traveling down south to a bowling tournament, and the car we were driving was our second car. Our spare car. Usually, we drove our truck, which came with a roadside assistance service when we bought it. But for whatever reason, this time we decided to take our car which didn’t come with anything. I guess I just thought we were covered somehow.
“Anyway, you guessed it—when we broke down, we found out we weren’t.
“We called the other roadside assistance to see if they would help us out. But they told us they wouldn’t come because the service was attached to just our truck. It didn’t matter that I owned both cars. They refused to give our poor car any love.
“So, unfortunately, the bowling trip turned out to be more expensive than we’d planned. We paid an enormous amount of money—and waited an incredibly long time—to have our car towed and ultimately fixed. Lesson learned.
“Since then, I’ve learned how much faster AAA Road Service is—and that it makes more sense to have road service that comes to me, no matter what car I happen to be driving.
“I also like the fact that when the tow truck drivers show up they’re friendly, they’re courteous and they don’t make you feel like an idiot because you didn’t see that tiny loose wire under the hood.
“Given our experience with AAA, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that when it came time to renew our car insurance I decided to look into AAA Auto Insurance—I even added my daughter to the policy. And while the low price got us in, it’s the great benefits that keep us around.”
